Krajcir pleads guilty to new charges, 65 years added to life sentences

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS)- An admitted serial killer had dozens of years tacked to 15 life sentences he is already serving, after pleading guilty to kidnapping and other charges.

Timothy Krajcir was in a McCracken County Court for an arraignment Wednesday on new sexual abuse charges that date back to 1978.

Krajcir pleaded guilty to all the charges against him and was sentenced to 65 years in prison that will be tacked on to 15 life sentences he's already serving in prison in Pontiac, Illinois.

A Grand Jury indicted Krajcir in late March. 

Krajcir's was accused of breaking into a building in January of 1978, restraining a man and then assaulting a woman.

Krajcir's admitted to killing nine women in four states, including five in southeast Missouri and one in Paducah.

Police arrest 1, look for another in connection with robbery

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) - The Paducah Police Department arrested one man and are looking for another in connection with the robbery of three men Friday afternoon.

Antonio Woodson, 18, was arrested on a charge of second-degree robbery.

Police are still looking for Rashad Brown, 20, on charges in a warrant with second-degree robbery.

According to police, one of the victims told police he was a passenger in a car driving on South 24th Street at 5:26 p.m. Friday when the car had to stop because of several young men standing  in the road. The victim said one of the men opened the other rear passenger door, pointed a gun at him and demanded money.

The victim told police he gave the man $400 and the men left. Police say the other two men in the car confirmed that story.

According to police, Woodson was found a short time later at an apartment in Elmwood Court. Police are still looking for Brown and the investigation is ongoing.

Four juveniles were arrested, charged after 10 vehicles damaged in Reidland area

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - The McCracken County Sheriff's Department says four juveniles were arrested after about 10 vehicles in the Reidland area were damaged Friday, March 2.

The department says at that time, an unknown person or persons smashed out the windows with an object suspected to have been a pipe or ball bat. They say an appproximate total of $5,000 in damages was the result.

On Tuesday, May 15 detectives went to the Reidland High School to interview some persons of interest and while assisted by the Reidland school resource officer. The investigation continued throughout the afternoon and evening, resulting in a confession being obtained from four separate juveniles that were responsible for the March 2 damages.

According to the sheriff's department, after the confessions detectives compiled reports and contacted victims of the criminal mischief to try to get accurate amounts of damages that had been sustained to their vehicles.

Parks Services Dept. looking for more lifeguards for summer season

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) - The Paducah Parks Services Department says they need an additional 15 lifeguards in order to be ready for the summer season at Noble Park pool.

An additional 15 lifeguards would bring the total to 27. The department says lifeguards must be American Red Cross certified.

KSP releases traffic safety checkpoint locations

(KFVS) - The Kentucky State Police will be conducting traffic safety checkpoints throughout the Post 1 district, to check drivers for compliance with laws including driving under the influence.

KSP uses traffic safety checkpoints to promote safety for drivers using the public roads and to provide a deterrent for those who violate laws contained in the Kentucky Revised Statutes. 

The checkpoints will allow KSP the opportunity to periodically concentrate its efforts in checking for violations of Kentucky traffic and regulatory laws that will ultimately increase the safety of the citizens within the Commonwealth.

Drivers encountering a traffic safety checkpoint should have their operator’s license, vehicle registration receipt and proof of insurance readily accessible.

KSP has provided the traffic safety checkpoint locations in the Post 1 district below.

KYTC to host public hearing about Paducah Waterfront Development Proj.

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has scheduled a Public Hearing on the Paducah Waterfront Development Project for Wednesday, May 30 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The hearing will be held in the City Commission chambers on the 2nd floor of City Hall, 300 South 5th Street, Paducah, Kentucky. The City is  proposing to build a boat launch facility and a marina/transient dock on the Ohio River as part of a waterfront development effort.

The city scheduled this hearing so interested people will have the opportunity to become better informed and to express their views concerning the proposed project. The format of the hearing will include:

Paducah police search for men suspected of stealing video games

Paducah police search for men suspected of stealing video games

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) - Paducah police are currently searching for two men who are suspected of stealing video games from Walmart Supercenter at 5130 Hinkleville Rd. in Paducah.

Officer Paul Stevenson said the men are suspected o stealing video games valued at more than $300 on Monday.  They reportedly left the store in a white Dodge Caravan or Chrysler Town & Country.  The van is missing a rear passenger hubcap.

Anyone with information about the two men is asked to call the Paducah Police Department at 270-440-8550.  Information leading to an arrest may result in a reward of up to $1000.
