Paducah police ask for help finding wanted man

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS)- Paducah police are asking for the public's help in finding a wanted man.

Joshua Heath Burrow, 32, of the Paducah area was charged in warrants and summonses with theft and fraud.

Burrows is described as a white male, 5'11" tall and 150 pounds with red hair and hazel eyes. He has tattoos on both arms and shoulders. 

Police say he is charged in 11 warrants and three summonses in several western Kentucky counties and in Texas.

Anyone with information on Burrows is asked to contact the Paducah Police Department at (270) 444-8550 or Crime Stoppers at 433-TELL.

Tenn. Titan's Caravan stopping in Paducah

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) - The final stop of the Tennessee Titans' caravan will be in Paducah on Friday, May 3 at the Shoe Carnival at 5:30 pm.

Tight end Delanie Walker will be joining George Wilson on the caravan.

Wilson played at Paducah Tilghman High School and college ball in Arkansas. He has predicted that this will be the biggest crowd of all the stops for the Titans Caravan tour.

Midtown Alliance of Neighbors Repair Affair is cancelled

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) - Tomorrow's Repair Affair event organized by the Midtown Alliance of Neighbors has been delayed due to the threat of rain and colder temperatures, too cold to paint. 

Organizers are hoping to reschedule for May 11.  

Please pass along to anyone who was planning to volunteer to help repair seven Paducah homes.

Semi crash shuts down I-24 ramp more than 6 hours

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS)- A tractor-trailer crash shut down traffic on an Interstate 24 on ramp for more than six hours on Thursday.

Police say Steven W. Canady, 42, of Brownsville, Tennessee, was driving a 2007 Mack tractor and trailer east on U.S. 62 (Alben Barkley Drive) and turning left to merge onto Interstate 24.

The westbound Interstate 24 on-ramp from U.S. 62 (Alben Barkley Drive) was shut down for about 6 1/2 hours after the rig overturned.

Steven W. Canady told police he was at the stop light on U.S. 62, waiting to turn left onto the on-ramp just before 6:45 a.m. He told police when the light changed, he began to make the turn and the load he was hauling shifted, causing the truck and trailer to flip onto its side.

Canady was not reported injured.

Police say the on-ramp was closed until about 1:15 p.m. while the load of building supplies was off-loaded and the truck righted.

Paducah man accused of robbing Sonic restaurant manager

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS)- A Paducah man has been charged after he reportedly robbed a restaurant of cash.

Brant M. Arden, 26, of Paducah, was arrested on charges of second-degree burglary.
According to Paducah police, Arden allegedly robbed the Sonic restaurant late Wednesday night.
Police say Arden used intimidation to steal the bank deposit from the manager.
He was taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail and held on $10,000 bond.

Milling and paving projects on Coleman Road and two neighborhoods off Lone Oak Road

 

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) - Starting Friday, May 3 Public Works crews along with a contractor will begin the milling and paving of a section of Coleman Road. They will also be working on two neighborhoods off Lone Oak Road. 

According to the City, crews are expected to complete the milling early next week which includes working Saturday.  The paving will start next week and should take approximately one week to complete, weather-permitting.

The section of Coleman Road that will be repaved starts at U.S. 60 (Hinkleville Road) and extends north to the Paducah city limits.  During the street work, crews say they expect to keep one lane of Coleman Road open.

Clark Elementary teacher selected as 2012-2013 Challenger Learning Center Outstanding Educator

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS)  – Kym Mizell, Clark Elementary School science specialist, was named the 2012-2013 Challenger Learning Center at Paducah’s Outstanding Educator during a surprise presentation at a Clark Elementary school assembly on May 1.

Staff from the Challenger Center recognized Mizell as the center’s seventh outstanding educator.

During the presentation, Mizell received a framed certificate and a $100 gift certificate for science and math supplies donated by Travis School Equipment in Draffenville.
