MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS)- One person had to be hospitalized after a car crash on Interstate 24 on Wednesday in McCracken County, Kentucky.
The sheriff’s office was dispatched at 1:15 p.m. to the 1.6-mile marker in the westbound lane of Interstate 24 for the two-vehicle injury crash.
Deputies say Tammy Gunther, 42, of Tilne, Kentucky, was westbound in her Dodge Neon, on I-24 when she rear-ended a Honda Accord driven by Cody Burk, 29, of Golconda, Illinois.
According to the sheriff's office, Gunther hit the rear of Burk’s vehicle her car swerved left and then hit the concrete divider before swerving back to the right and coming to rest against the guardrail. Crash investigators say the collision may have been a result of medical issues.
Gunther was taken to an area hospital for medical treatment by Mercy Regional Ambulance service.
