Sensors being installed at KY1286, US 62 intersection |

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - A Kentucky Transportation Cabinet signal crew plans to complete installation of sensors for the new traffic signal and turn lanes recently constructed along KY 1286/North Friendship Road at the intersection with US 62/Blandville Road in McCracken County starting at 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 11.

Because of prep work last week, this work zone will be much less complicated than earlier announced. The crew will limit their work to one lane at a time on each leg of the intersection.

Drivers can expect to see changing lane restrictions in this work zone as the crew continues their work. Drivers are asked to be very careful in the area as workers will be in the intersection that is very close to traffic flow. The work zone is expected to be changing every few hours.

On top of being asked to use a high level of caution in the work zone, drivers who regularly travel through this intersection on US 62/Blandville Road at the west edge of the West Kentucky Community and Technical College campus should be aware of changes in traffic flow the new signal may create once work is completed.

Work on the intersection should be completed late afternoon the same day, weather permitting.
