Walking ghost tours in downtown Paducah

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) - Paducah's River City Legends and Lore Walking Ghost Tours will be Saturdays, Oct. 8 and 15 and Friday, Oct. 21.

The lantern-lit walking tours will be at 6:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Tours will start at the Studio Theatre, located at 120 Market House Square.

Oak Grove Cemetery and Mausoleum Tours will start at the Oak Grove Cemetery Friday, Oct. 28 and Saturday, Oct. 29 at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. The cemetery is located at 1613 Park Avenue.

Tickets for all the tours are $15 for adults and $5 for children ages six to 12. Tickets will be sold at the door, but reservations are strongly recommended. You can call the MHT Box Office at 444--6828 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Friday.

It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes and dress appropriately for the weather. Organizers say the tours leave on time, so make plans to arrive early. Only heavy, driving rain will cancel tours.

For school tours, groups ages 15 and older can schedule daytime tours at the school matinee rate of $5 per student. If your group has a bus, you can schedule a private evening bus tour for groups of 30 or more at $10 per ticket.
