Market House Theatre to host auditions for 'Duck Hunter Shoots Angel' | Arts & Culture

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - Auditions for "Duck Hunter Shoots Angel" will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday, October 29 and Tuesday, October 30 in the studio theatre at the Market House Theatre.
Written by Mitch Albom, the comedy is a funny and heartwarming story of two bumbling down-home Alabama duck hunting brothers who think they have accidentally shot down and angel. Their paths intersect with a tabloid journalist, his reluctant photographer, their crazed box, a shop girl at a local Gas mart, and a half man/alligator and a ghost. Performance dates are January 10-13, and 17-20, 2013.
Characters for the show include:
- Phil - Also known as Gator Man
- Creature - A half man half alligator
- Sandy - Tabloid journalist
- Lenny - An African American man who is Sandy’s photographer
- Lester - Publisher of the tabloid
- Duane and Duwell - Brothers and Southern Duck Hunters
- A mysterious woman
- Kansas - A female teenager
According to the Market House Theatre, International Director Ross Daniels will direct the production. Scripts are available for checkout prior to auditions with a refundable deposit of $10.
The Kentucky Arts Council, the state arts agency, supports Market House Theatre with state tax dollars and federal funding from the National Endowment for the Arts.
