2nd Annual McCracken Co. Sheriff’s Dept. “Operation Safe Halloween” Oct. 31 | Community Spirit
MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - The McCracken County Sheriff’s Department will be partnering again this year with other agencies, local businesses and organizations for the 2nd year for the Halloween night event that is being called Operation Safe Halloween.
The event like last year will be held on the K-Mart parking lot on Lone Oak Road beginning at 5 p.m., Thursday October 31. K-Mart has agreed to not only participate again this year, but also to allow the use of their parking lot.
Last year’s event drew an estimated crowd of 1,000 or more children and parents.
Space will be made available for local businesses and organizations to set up a booth, advertise their business or organization, and hand out Halloween candy. Concessions will be provided by McCracken County High School Football Boosters.
Some organizations last year were very creative in setting up their booths, decorating them with a Halloween theme. There was also a haunted house set up by Mercy Regional Ambulance Service.
The sheriff's department asks that any business or organization that would like to participate in the year’s event, and set up a booth, call the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office at 444-4719 and ask for Tracy Smith. She can also be contacted by email at email@example.com.
