PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) - Detective Smith and the Paducah Police Department team and four other participating teams are getting ready for the 2nd annual Kings of the Court basketball tournament.
"We have a bunch of outside shooters. Unfortunately all of these games are played inside and away from the shooting range," laughs Paducah Police Detective Matt Smith.
The tournament will be held Saturday April 21 at the Paducah Tighlman High School Gymnasium. The first game will start at 11 a.m.
All proceeds from tickets, tee shirt sales, concessions and sponsorships will benefit Relay for Life, the main fund raising event for the American Cancer Society. The goal is to raise at least $2000 through the tournament.
Tickets are $5 per person and $3 per child under ten years old.
The tournament will also include the Paducah Tighlman Step Team, an autograph session with members of the Murray State University basketball team, and giveaways.
Concessions will be expanded this year to include hot dogs, popcorn, drinks and other snacks.
For more information on the tournament go to the City of Paducah's website, www.paducahky.gov.
