PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) - The Housing Authority of Paducah is inviting dads and their children to enjoy a fun-filled afternoon on Saturday, June 16.
"Day with Dad" will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Robert Coleman Park on Caldwell Street and Walter Jetton Boulevard. The free event is for the whole community.
All children must be accompanied by a male at least 18 years old who is their dad, a father figure or a family friend.
During the event, organizers say there will be plenty of food and activities including basketball, horseshoes, music, three-legged races, kickball, photo opportunities, crafts, and a dunking booth so that kids can dunk a dad. All of the activities will focus on good sportsmanship, fair play, and everyone getting to participate.
“The purpose of the event is to provide fun activities to support the bonding of fathers and their children," said Ann Ponder Simpson, housing authority of Paducah director of residence services. "But the event also will allow fathers to find out about local economic development resources.”
The event will also include booths with representatives providing information such as job training and employment services, parenting support groups and classes, and service directories.
For more information about "Day with Dad," you can call the Housing Authority at 201-6679.
