Paddlewheeler makes its first visit to Port of Paducah | Community Spirit
PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) - The newly-built Queen of the Mississippi paddlewheeler is docked at the Port of Paducah today with departure planned for 5 a.m. on Wednesday.
The Paducah Convention and Visitor's Bureau says more than 130 passengers are shopping, browsing and enjoying Paducah’s attractions today. Upon arrival last evening, many of the 42 off- and on-duty crew members disembarked in search of restaurants and 24-hour shopping.
Paducah’s museums were open and ready early Tuesday morning as tour buses were arriving and departing from the riverfront. Paducah Ambassadors were there to welcome guests and direct them to Downtown shopping and attractions.
The Queen of the Mississippi, one of the finest authentic paddlewheelers in the world, brings a new high standard to the all-American riverboating experience. Owned and operated by American Cruise Lines, the Queen of the Mississippi is environmentally friendly.
The Queen of the Mississippi will make four more stops in Paducah this year. Passengers will tour Paducah on Aug. 28, Sept. 23, Oct. 18 and Nov. 6.
