Paducah hospital to host event encouraging mammograms | Community Spirit

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) - Western Baptist Hospital will be presenting "Baptist at the Box Office," a free movie for women who are over 40 and never had a mammogram.
The musical, "Grease," will be shown Monday, Oct. 15 at Maiden Alley Cinema. Seating is limited to 140 guests who meet the requirements. You can call 270-575-2851 to make a reservation.
Free admission and popcorn will be provided free from Western Baptist and Murray State University, plus there will be giveaways and door prizes. Organizers say ladies are encouraged to dress in '50s-style attire.
According to the hospital, moviegoers will also get a brief medical update on breast cancer from:
- Radiologist Jennifer Brien, M.D., on the need for and accuracy of mammograms
- Community college administrator Kay Travis of Calvert City, with the breast cancer survivor's perspective
- Baptist Imaging Center supervisor Betty Brown describing the comfort and ease of today's digital mammograms
