Tickets available for annual ballroom dance in Paducah | Community Spirit

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) - The Paducah Jazz Ensemble Big Band's 2012 Harvest Moon Ball is scheduled for Saturday, October 20 from 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., at the Robert Cherry Civic Center.

The Civic Center is located at 2701 Park Avenue in Paducah. A limited number of tickets are still available for purchase by calling 270-898-0180.

The group says dance music will include jazz standards played at the standard dance tempos taught by area dance studios. Selections will include music for cha-cha, rhumba, salsa, swing, two-step, waltz, tango and more.

Selections include jazz standards from the 1930s, 40s, 50s and beyond, made famous by golden-era big bands.

"Whether you are a dancer or simply someone who loves hearing live big band jazz, you will have a great time at this event," said Eric Allen, PJE director. "It's a fun, non-competitive dance that is very popular with area dancers and dance students."

William Carter's Photography Inc. will return to offer professional 5" x 7" photos of guests for under $10, and will be printed on the spot.

Concessions will be available, with desserts and soft drinks. Attire is optional semi-formal/formal.
