2 women arrested in McCracken Co. on drug charges | Crime
MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - The McCracken County Sheriff's Department arrested two women on drug charges.
According to the sheriff's department, on August 12 a deputy stopped Sheree Gilbert of Metropolis, Ill. and charged her with driving under the influence. During the search of Gilbert and her vehicle, the deputy found 13 grams of powder cocaine, various other controlled substances and drug paraphernalia.
Due to a medical condition, Gilbert was cited for the DUI and released at a local hospital.
In early September, the sheriff's department said the McCracken County Grand Jury indicted Gilbert, 50, for trafficking cocaine, trafficking controlled substance first degree, trafficking controlled substance third degree, illegal possession of a legend drug, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under the influence.
On Sept. 24, deputies and detectives say they found Gilbert at a business on Kentucky Avenue. She was taken to the McCracken County Jail.
After that investigation, detectives with the Drug Division began an investigation on Stephanie Waddell of Paducah, Ky. Detectives learned that Waddell was trying to illegally buy controlled substances from Gilbert.
According to the sheriff's department, undercover detectives reached an agreement to meet Waddell and sell her Xanax and Methadone.
Deputies say Waddell was found at a business on Irvin Cobb in Paducah, Ky. and arrested. They say money was seized as part of the investigation.
Waddell, 24, was charged with conspiracy to possess controlled substance first and third degree. She was taken to the McCracken County Jail.
