Kevil man accused of trying to rob store, stealing cooking sherry | Crime

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) - Police say a Kevil man was arrested after he tryed to rob an person on Friday and Davis Drugs, 250 Lone Oak Road.
Hunter Dyer, 23, of Kevil, Ky. was arrested arrested on charges of two counts of attempted second-degree robbery and one count of misdemeanor theft by unlawful taking (shoplifting).
Police were called shortly after 9:30 a.m. Friday to Davis Drugs, where Edwin Jennings of Murray told officer that Dyer had just tried to rob him. Jennings says he was walking out of the business when Dyer pushed him up against the door and tried to take his wallet, according to police. Jennings told police he scuffled briefly with Dyer. Dyer then went into Davis Drugs and while Jennings walked to his vehicle.
Employees inside the drug store told police that Dyer was wearing aviator-style sunglasses and walked up to the counter, pulled a blue bandana over the lower half of his face and handed them a note with a list of prescription medications.
The employees say they asked for the man’s name, and he demanded they give him the medications on the list, according to police.
Officers say when employees asked Dyer if he was attempting to rob the business, he walked out the door and left in a two-tone Chevrolet S10 pick-up truck.
Employees provided the truck’s license number to police, and the truck was found a short time later by a McCracken County Sheriff’s deputy on the parking lot of Wal-Mart Supercenter on Hinkleville Road.
A plain clothed detective waited in the parking lot until he saw Dyer approach his truck.
Dyer and found two bottles of cooking sherry on Dyer that police say he had stolen from Wal-Mart. And, on the seat of the pick-up truck, officers saw a blue bandana and a pair of aviator-style sunglasses.
