Paducah man facing multiple charges after police search home | Crime
PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) - A Paducah man was arrested Wednesday on multiple charges including probation violation, marijuana trafficking and receiving stolen property.
Delvon R. Shumpert, 21, was arrested on a warrant charging him with probation violation and on charges of gun possession by a convicted felon, marijuana trafficking, receiving stolen property (gun), trafficking in a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to police, officers went to Shumpert's home on the 1000 block of Elmdale Road Wednesday morning to serve a warrant for probation violation. Officers say they found Shumpert hiding behind a bedroom door inside his home, along with a plastic bag containing 1 gram of marijuana.
Police say they got permission to search the home and found about 133 grams of marijuana in individually wrapped bags under a bed. On a desk beside the bed, they say they found plastic sandwich bags and black digital scales.
On top of the refrigerator, officers say they found a Hi-Point 45-caliber gun that was reported stolen June 17 by Dan Overstreet of Cloverdale Road. Overstreet said the gun was stolen from his car. Shumpert told officers he had gotten the gun "from some kids."
Shumpert was booked into McCracken County Regional Jail.
