Paducah woman charged with trafficking meth | Crime
PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) - A Paducah woman was arrested Tuesday afternoon for trafficking crystal meth.
Ashley Fugate, 31, was charged with possession of meth, tampering with physical evidence and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was also charged with several traffic violations.
The McCracken County Sheriff's Department says their Drug Division received a tip alleging that a Paducah woman was trafficking crystal meth Tuesday morning.
While investigating the tip, the sheriff's department says a deputy saw Fugate leave her home. They say she was stopped for several traffic violations on the parking lot of a local business on Hinkleville Road. While conducting the traffic stop, the deputy's K-9, Pepo, alerted on Fugate's vehicle. According to officers, it was also learned that Fugate was on felony probation stemming from a trafficking in methamphetamine conviction in Marshall County in 2010.
During the investigation, the sheriff's department says Fugate was found to be concealing a glass methamphetamine smoking pipe that also contained a quantity of meth. Officers say the items were concealed in a body cavity.
Fugate was taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.
