Detectives: Teen arrested after he admitted to trying to sell stolen gun

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - Another teen has been arrested in connection with a burglary in McCracken County.

Calvin Bingham, 19, was charged with a Class D felony, receiving stolen property (firearm). He was taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail without incident.

According to the sheriff's department, on Dec. 5 detectives continued pursuing a missing gun that had been stolen from a home on Geibe Road and had not yet been recovered. They found a person of interest, Bingham, on the afternoon of Dec. 5.

Detectives say they got a confession from Bingham that he had one of the stolen guns that had been removed from the home and directed detectives to a north Graves County home where the gun had been hidden. They say Bingham admitted that he knew the gun, a .44 caliber revolver, was stolen.

They say Bingham told them he had intentions of selling the gun, but had not yet found anyone that wanted to buy it.

The weapon was recovered from a home on KY 131 in the Hickory community.
