20-year-old Paducah man arrested in connection with pharmacy burglary | Crime
MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - The Paducah Police Department has arrested a 20-year-old man on burglary charges after they say he broke into a pharmacy early Monday morning.
Aaron D. Thompson, 20, was charged with third degree burglary, possession of burglary tools, possession/use of a radio that sends/receives police messages and fleeing or evading police.
According to the police department, an officer was dispatched at 1:38 a.m. Monday to an alarm sounding at Rick's Pharmacy. When the officer arrived, he found a glass door had been broken.
Police say a witness described a man he saw running from the scene, and told the officer the direction the man fled. The officer then saw a man, Thompson, matching the description on Blaess Avenue, but the man dropped the items he was carrying and ran when he saw the police car.
The officer chased Thompson on foot and caught him a short distance away. Police say among the items found that Thompson had dropped when he fled were a crowbar and hydrocodone, valued at more that $1,000.
Thompson told the officer he brought a brick and a crowbar to break into the business.
He was booked into the McCracken County Regional Jail.\
