2 Paducah men arrested after drug investigation | Crime

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - The McCracken County Sheriff's Department arrested two Paducah men Wednesday afternoon after a drug investigation on Bridge Street.

Casey A. Bennett, 26, was charged with possession of meth, unlawful possession of a meth precursor, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to notify address change to the department of transportation.

Robert L. Conger, 37, was charged with contempt of court from a McCracken County Bench Warrant.

Deputies say about one week ago they received information alleging that illegal drug activities were happening at 2200 Bridge Lot #7 in Paducah. They say the investigation revealed that Bennett had been soliciting people to buy Sudafed, a meth precursor, for the making of meth.

Detectives say they used a confidential source of information to contact Bennett and he agreed to pay the person cash and or meth in return for Sudafed. They agreed to meet Bennett at Bridge Street to sell him Sudafed at his request.

The sheriff's department says Bennett admitted to making meth in the past and said that it was his intent to make more meth using the Sudafed.

Bennett was arrested after he took possession of the Sudafed on the parking lot of the business at 4:22 p.m.

Detectives then searched Bennett’s home on Bridge Street. They seized digital scales with suspected meth residue, a quantity of meth, items of drug paraphernalia and more Sudafed from the home.

During the search, detectives say Conger arrived at the home and was arrested on an outstanding McCracken County bench warrant for failing to appear.

Both men were lodged in the McCracken County Jail.
