Man arrested for warrant two weeks after bank robbery | Crime
MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - The Paducah Police Department arrested a man Friday, June 8 on a warrant in connection with a robbery two weeks earlier.
Robert P. Riley, 47 of Arlington, Ky., was arrested on a warrant charging him with second degree robbery.
The Paducah Police Department said he was arrested two weeks to the day after a robbery of First National Bank on Jefferson Street.
According to police, Riley was arrested Friday afternoon in Wingo near the Purchase Parkway by a Graves County deputies and Obion County, Tennessee Sheriff's deputies.
Bank employees told police a man walked into the bank about 2:20 p.m. on Friday, June 14, went behind the counter and demanded money. The employees gave him cash and he ran away.
Police say the suspect did not have a gun and did not threaten to use a gun. They say he had no bag to put the cash in; instead he ran out of the bank with the cash in his hands. He was last seen running west on Jefferson Street.
An investigation by Paducah police led to a warrant being issued Friday afternoon, June 28 for Riley. A deputy found Riley and arrested him around 3 p.m. He was taken to the McCracken County Jail and his red 2000 Chevy Blazer was seized as evidence.
