McCracken Co. man arrested after allegedly assaulting a woman | Crime
MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - A McCracken County man was charged Wednesday after he allegedly assaulted a woman.
Jeffrey Long, 38, was charged with wanton endangerment first degree, assault fourth degree (domestic violence) and terroristic threatening third degree. He was taken to the McCracken County Jail on $5,000 bond.
According to deputies, the woman, who had ran to the neighbor's home, told them Long made threats to harm her with a shotgun and was still armed inside the home. Deputies say they established a perimeter and it was determined Long had ran from the home just before they arrived.
Although a shotgun was not found in the home, deputies say a .22 cal rifle was found.
Deputies say they called Long on two separate occassions, but he refused to cooperate with them. They then got arrest warrants for him.
According to the sheriff's department, possible locations for Long were investigated throughout the day until about 3 p.m. on Wednesday when he was found at a business behind the Salvation Army on Irvin Cob Drive, and taken into custody without incident.
They say a section of Hovekamp Road was closed for about two hours for public safety and neighbors in that area were notified of the situation.
