Detectives ask public's help in catalytic converter thefts

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - Detectives with the McCracken County Sheriff's Department are asking for the public's help with more catalytic converter thefts.

According to the sheriff's department, on Monday, June 6, Insurance Auto Auction on Lane Road reported several catalytic converters being stolen from their lot over the weekend. Detectives say they believe the property was broken into late in the evening on Friday, June 10. The converters were then cut from the cars and taken from the property.

Detectives ask anyone in the area around the time in question that can remember anything that might help in the investigation, or anyone with information, to call the McCracken County Sheriff's Department at 444-4719 or the West Kentucky Crime Stoppers at 443-TELL.
