Jan. blood drives for McCracken Co. | Events

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - Blood drives for the month of January have been scheduled for the Missouri, Illinois and Kentucky areas.

The American Red Cross says January and February are tough months for blood collection. They say blood drives may be canceled because of inclement weather, donors cancel blood donation appointments when the roads are bad and many people have cold and flu symptoms, making them ineligible to give blood.

Blood drives in McCracken County include:

• Jan. 22 - Reidland United Methodist Church, 5515 Reidland Drive, Paducah, Ky. from 11:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
• Jan. 25 - Central Church of Christ, 2201 Washington St., Paducah, Ky. from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
• Jan. 27 - Kentucky Oaks Mall, 5101 Hinkleville Rd., Paducah, Ky. from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Southern Illnois Blood drives in January include:

• Jan. 18 - Anna-Jonesboro Community High School, 608 S. Main St., Anna, Ill. from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Jan. 18 - American Legion Post 127, 1700 Gartside, Murphysboro, Ill. from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
• Jan. 18 - NBTY Midwest Distribution Center, One Nutrition Plaza, Carbondale, Ill. from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
