PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) - The Noble Park Fish Out fishing tournament will be Saturday, June 2.
The event is for children ages six to 11 and their families. Registration will start at 9 a.m., fishing will be at 9:30 a.m. and awards will be given at 11:30 a.m. It is free and trophies will be given for boys and girls in each age group for the biggest fish caught.
Organizers say children can use their own pole or if they are one of the first 100 participants registered, they can get a free cane pole.
Preregistration is offered online at www.paducahky.gov or at the Parks office at 1400 H.C. Mathis Drive. In Kentucky, children under the age of 16 do not need a fishing license.
Participants are asked to abide by the following rules:
- Have fun
- Be careful
- Helpers may help get the bait on the hook and take the fish off the hook; however, the children must do all other fishing on their own.
- Once a fish is caught, please ask an event worker to measure the fish, and then release it.
- Please release all fish after they are counted.
