Western Baptist hosts stroke awareness luncheon

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) - Western Baptist Hospital will be hosting a free stroke awareness luncheon on Thursday, May 19.

The luncheon will be in Baptist Heart Center auditorium. Speakers include Neurologists Jacqueline Carter, M.D., John Grubbs, M.D. and internal medicine doctor Danny Butler, M.D.

Space is limited and reservations are required. You can call 270-575-2895 to make a reservation.

The hospital recently received the Bronze Quality Achievement Award for stroke treatment.

Stroke is the nation's third leading killer and the leading cause of serious and long-term disability. According to the American Heart Association, in the Commonwealth, only 11 other states have a higher death rate from stroke than Kentucky.
