3 injured in 3-vehicle crash on Clark Line Rd. | News
MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - Three people were injured in a three vehicle crash on Friday, September 20.
According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department, deputies responded to a three vehicle crash around 4:01 p.m. at 447 Clark Line Road.
Deputies say the investigation showed John Champy, 65, of Magnolia, Ark. was driving west in his 2006 Ford F250. They say Champy was stopped behind a school bus that was unloading children.
John Caruthers, 50, of Paducah, Ky. was in his 2009 Chevy Silverado, with passengers Patrick Caruthers, 16, and Katie Caruthers, 11. They were stopped behind Champy's vehicle.
According to deputies, Joseph Hammonds, 17, of Boaz, Ky. was going west in his 1989 GMC pickup truck with passenger Demetri Webb, 16. When Hammonds topped a hill and was unable to stop in time. His truck hit Caruthers' vehicle and the crash caused Caruthers to hit Champy's vehicle.
Hammonds, Webb and Caruthers were all taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
According to the sheriff's department, this portion of Clark Line Road was closed for about an hour for investigation and clean up.
