Sheriff's Dept.: Two sent to hospital after car crash at intersection | News
PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) - The McCracken County Sheriff's Department says two were sent to the hospital after a two-car crash at an intersection on Monday, Jan. 9.
The sheriff's department says at about 6:12 p.m. deputies responded to the intersection of Krebs Station Road and Houser Road.
According to deputies, Elizabeth Conkwright, 18, of Paducah was driving her 2007 Honda Pilot east on Krebs Station Road. They say she slowed at the intersection at Houser Road and tried to make a right-hand turn. Deputies say she failed to see a 2000 Ford pickup driving west bound on Krebs Station Road. Conkwright turned into the path of the truck driven by Tabitha Wilhite, 34, of Mayfield and the cars collided at the intersection.
Deputies say Wilhite and a juvenile passenger were taken to a local hospital with apparent non-life threatening injuries. They say Nicholas Wilhite, 35, and another juvenile passenger were not treated for injuries at the scene. Conkwright was also not treated for any injuries at the scene.
The sheriff's department says Tabitha Wilhite was cited for failure of non-owner/operator to maintain required insurance and Nicholas Wilhite was cited for owner/operator to maintain required insurance. Both citations were first offenses.
Deputies were helped at the scene by the Hendron Lone Oak Fire Department and Mercy Regional Medical Ambulance Service.
