PADUCAH, KY (KFVS)- Two men face various drug charges after deputies searched their home on Hovekamp Road in McCracken County on Wednesday afternoon.

Victor R. Baggett 61, of Hovekamp Road in Paducah was charged with trafficking in marijuana less than eight ounces, trafficking in a second degree controlled substance-Lortab, cultivate in marijuana five plants or more, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine and 16 counts of unlawful distribution of a meth precursor (Sudafed).

James R. Martin 40, of Hovekamp Road in Paducah was charged with possession of methamphetamine, 14 counts of unlawful distribution of a meth precursor (Sudafed) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Deputies say when they approached the door to the home, Victor Baggett slammed the door shut and physically tried to keep the door shut.  That's when deputies say they forced their way in and took Baggett into custody.

Investigators found marijuana in the home along with methamphetamine, doses of Lortab packaged for sale, digital scales, meth pipes, a .25 caliber handgun, money believed to be proceeds of illegal drug sales and several assorted items of drug paraphernalia.

Also deputies say they found 21 marijuana plants growing outside the home hidden within some landscaping.

Detectives say Baggett had been buying Sudafed along with several others and trading it for meth.

Martin was targeted by deputies as helping Baggett buy Sudafed for cash.

Deputies say they found meth and drug paraphernalia in Martin's bedroom.

Both men were taken to the McCracken County Jail.

Additional arrests are likely, according to investigators.
