PADUCAH, KY (KFVS)- Police say a private club in Paducah was shut down on Friday after a raid by Paducah police, the fire-inspection department and state health department.

Detectives say they began the investigation into the Ebony Ltd. at 719 Oscar Cross Boulevard after getting complaints about illegal alcohol sales.

A search of the club around 1 p.m. Friday showed health code and building code violations.  That's when the business was shut down.

Liquor and beer was seized along with evidence of smoking in the club. The club does not have a license to sell alcohol, according to police.

Charges are pending as the investigation continues.
