Sewer repairs forces closure on Jefferson Street in Paducah

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) - Work crews will be repairing a storm sewer line that crosses Jefferson Street at North 14th Street starting Tuesday, September 4.

The City of Paducah says work will require the closure of Jefferson Street at North 13th Street. Traffic will be forced to turn at 13th to avoid the work zone.

North 14th Street will be closed between Broadway and the alley just south of Monroe Street.

Residents who live in the area will be able to access their homes.

The work involves the cutting of the pavement across Jefferson Street, the repairing of the storm sewer, and the filling of the area around the storm sewer with flowable fill material.

Work will take approximately two days, weather permitting.

In the evenings, Jefferson Street will be open, with a metal plate covering the open trench caused by the work.

After the flowable fill material cures, which should take a week, Jefferson Street will be closed again to allow for the pavement to be repaired.
