PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) - A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will be milling and paving along KY 284/Bridge Street in Paducah on Wednesday, September 5.
According to KYTC, this will bring an increased level of construction activity to an already busy work zone starting at 6 a.m. and continuing through the day on Wednesday.
This work zone runs along Bridge Street between US 60/Irvin Cobb Drive and Yarbro Lane on Paducah's Southside. The paving work on Wednesday will include an additional truck traffic hauling materials into the work zone.
KYTC says this work zone continues to be restricted to two-way traffic running along the eastbound lanes of KY 284/Bridge Street between US 60/Irvin Cobb Drive at mile point 0.0 and Yarbro Lane at mile point 0.54 on Paducah's Southside. This is along Bridge Street in the Taco John's and Bob's Drive-In area.
Once paving is finished on Wednesday evening, traffic will be shifted to the westbound lanes along this section of Bridge Street. Drivers should use extreme caution in the area. KYTC says trucks and other large vehicles should use an alternate route, if possible.
According to KYTC, Charbon Contracting, LLC, is the prime contractor on this $464,795 highway improvement project which includes new curb and gutter.
