1 injured after over-correcting, overturning SUV on I-24

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) - A Wickliffe woman was injured in a one-car crash Thursday, October 11 at 9:15 a.m. on Interstate 24.

According to Paducah Police, Jessica L. Buckman, 26, told them she was driving a 2001 Ford Explorer west on I-24 between U.S. 62 and U.S. 60 and failed to see slowing traffic in front of her. She said she swerved to avoid a rear-end collision, but apparently over-corrected.

Witnesses told police Buckman's Explorer crossed the median, became airborne, overturned and landed on the shoulder of the eastbound lanes. Police say Buckman was thrown from the SUV and landed in a ditch.

Buckman was taken to Western Baptist Hospital for treatment.
