It happened at the 11 mile marker.

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS)- The McCracken County Sheriff's Office and Reidland-Farley Fire Department responded to a semi truck fire in the eastbound Interstate 24 on Wednesday, just after midnight.

It happened at the 11 mile marker.

According to the sheriff's department, 49-year-old Jerry J. Hayes of Florissant, Mo. was driving the truck when due to mechanical failure a tire caught fire.

Hayes pulled into the emergency lane and the fire was extinguished.

I-24 east bound at the 11 mile marker were reduced to one lane for approximately two hours for cleanup.

Hayes was transporting assorted freight none of which was hazardous material.  No one was hurt.
