MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - The McCracken County Sheriff's Department was dispatched to a head-on-collision on the 2100 block of Homewood Avenue at 4:17 p.m. on November 20.
When they arrived, deputies say they found Chasity Robins, 19 from Paducah, was driving a green 1996 Honda Accord westbound on Homewood Avenue. They say Robins drove off the road into the ditch due to a passing vehicle that was not on scene when deputies arrived. She then over corrected back onto the road, into the path of an oncoming vehicle.
Officers say Robins was taken to Western Baptist Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Deputies say Cora L. Lucas, 79 from Paducah, was driving a tan 1999 Buick Park Avenue eastbound on Homewood Avenue and was hit head-on when Robins crossed in front of her.
According to the sheriff's department, Sarah Mallory, 26 from Boaz and an infant were passengers in the vehicle with Lucas. Both Mallory and the infant were taken to Lourdes for non-life threatening injuries.
Officers say Homewood Avenue was shut down for about 45 minutes for the investigation and clean up of the crash.
The McCracken County Sheriffs Department was assisted on scene by Mercy Regional EMS and Riedland/Farley Fire Department.
The sheriff's department says charges will be sought for Robins for no operators license next date.
