MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - The McCracken County Sheriff's Department responded to a single vehicle crash on Husbands Road around 1:37 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8.
When officers arrived, they say they found Amanda M. Hobbs, 26 from Paducah, was driving a black 1998 Chrysler Sebring southbound on Husbands Road approaching Blankenship Drive. They say further investigation showed that Hobbs was eating a meal while driving her car and hit a cement culvert.
After hitting the culvert, police say the car continued southbound hitting a telephone pole guide wire and a fence before overturning. Officers say Hobbs was able to free herself from the vehicle and did not have to be extracted.
Hobbs was treated on scene for injuries and taken to an area hospital by Mercy Regional EMS. Officers say Husbands Road was closed for about one and a half hours for the investigation and clean-up of the roadway.
The McCracken County Sheriffs Department was assisted on scene by Mercy Regional EMS and the Reidland - Farley Fire Department.
