PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) - The Kentucky Transportation Department says ATMOS Energy plans to restrict traffic to one lane on the Interstate 24 Downtown Business Loop/Third Street in Paducah starting Monday, January 21.
The lane restriction is on the southbound lanes of Third Street at Broadway is to allow about a 6 by 10 ft. excavation to facilitate the repair of a gas valve. This work will also require a lane restriction on Broadway.
According to KYTC, all eastbound traffic on the I-24 Downtown Business Loop (Southbound traffic on Third Street) will move to the left-hand or passing lane at Broadway. Traffic on Broadway will move to the right-hand lane in this work zone.
Once work starts on Monday this work zone will remain in place around the clock until repairs are completed.
KYTC says drivers should be alert for merging traffic as they approach this work zone. Drivers should use appropriate caution where equipment, flaggers, and utility personnel are working along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.
This work zone is expected to be in place for two to three days.
