McCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - A contractor plans to restrict traffic to one lane on US 60 in McCracken County near the 8 mile marker on Wednesday and Thursday, January 23 and 24.
According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, due to the threat of winter precipitation, this work zone along US 60 in western McCracken County will only be up on the westbound lanes Wednesday and Thursday. They say there will be no activity in this work zone on Friday.
Work along the eastbound lanes will be rescheduled for sometime next week as weather permits.
KYTC says the lane restriction on US 60 near the Massac Creek Bridge is to allow installation work on the new traffic signal at the entrance to the new McCracken County High School and the Paducah Regional Sports Plex.
KYTC says drivers should be alert for slowing and merging traffic on US 60 as they approach the 8 mile marker.
Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and construction personnel are on the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.
