2 injured after driver loses control on slick roads in Paducah

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - The McCracken County Sheriff's Department responded an injury crash on January 25.

Around 7 a.m. officers say they responded to the crash on Ky. 786/Mayfield Metropolis Road. They say the investigation showed a 2000 Honda Accord driven by Becky Ixcoy, 36, from Paducah was going west on Ky. 768 when Ixcoy lost control of her car due to icy conditions.

The sheriff's department says Ixcoy hit a tree and then a mailbox. She and her son Martin Lopez, 17, were taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Lopez was a passenger in the car.

Officers say road crews were contacted to respond and treat the road due to the road conditions.

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by Mercy Regional and Lone Oak Fire.
