MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says weather permitting, a contractor crew plans to restrict eastbound traffic to one lane on US 60 near the 8 mile marker in McCracken County on Thursday and Friday, January 31 and February 1.
According to KYTC, the eastbound lane restriction on US 60 near the Massac Creek Bridge is to allow installation work on the new traffic signal at the entrance to the new McCracken County High School and the Paducah Regional Sports Plex. This is in the area where westbound lanes were restricted last week.
Eastbound drivers should be alert for slowing and merging traffic on US 60 as they approach the 8 mile marker. Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers and construction personnel are on the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.
KYTC says additional work will be required on the north leg of this intersection before the signal can be activated. At this time, it is estimated the new signal will likely be ready for activation sometime in late spring.
