US 60 open after semi hauling 38,000 lbs. of frozen chicken overturned | News
MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - The McCracken County Sheriff's Department says as of 9:55 a.m. on Tuesday, January 29 US 60 near the intersection of Wren Road in Kevil is clear after a semi overturned early that morning.
Around 2:05 a.m. deputies responded to the scene of the overturned semi. When they arrived, deputies say they found Robert Linton, 62 from North Carolina, was driving a 2010 Mack semi westbound on US 60 when he drove off the road into the ditch. They say Linton drove along the ditch before hitting a driveway culvert and overturning.
According to the sheriff's department, Linton said he was forced to move over to avoid hitting an oncoming semi. They say Linton was not injured in the crash.
Deputies say the semi was pulling a Tyson Fodds trailer loaded with 38,000 pounds of frozen chicken. The road was reduced to a single lane for the investigation and clean up.
The McCracken County Sheriffs Department was helped on scene by Mercy Regional EMS, West McCracken Fire, DES and Kentucky Health Department.
