PADUCAH, KY (KFVS)- Paducah's K9 officer found illegal drugs in a vehicle after a man was stopped for speeding.
Shaun E. Hunter, 29, of Salem, Ky. was arrested on charges of speeding, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of marijuana.
Hunter was clocked driving a 2008 Lincoln at 65 mph in a 55 mph zone at Paducah's west city limits on US 60.
He was pulled over on U.S. 60 West at Maxon Road at 10:49 a.m. Thursday.
K9 partner Fox walked around the car and the dog alerted near the driver's side door. Once inside the car, Fox alerted under the driver's seat, where Rowley found seven bags of suspected methamphetamine and a small bag of marijuana.
The driver of the car, Shaun E. Hunter, was arrested.
The three ounces of methamphetamine seized has an estimated street value of $8,400.
Police also seized $1,054 in cash and Hunter's 2008 Lincoln LS.
Hunter was booked into McCracken County Regional Jail.
