PADUCAH, KY (KFVS)- Police say two men were arrested on marijuana related charges after a traffic stop at Cairo Road and Triangle Avenue on Thursday afternoon.
Julian L. Jakes, 28, of Paducah, was arrested on charges of driving without an operator's license, trafficking in marijuana (less than eight ounces) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Kenyata D. Beasley, 35, of Paducah, arrested on charges of trafficking in marijuana (less than eight ounces) and possession of drug paraphernalia, and on a bench warrant charging him with failure to appear.
Police say an officer stopped a vehicle driven by Jakes after noticing the vehicle's license plate was not lit. Jakes didn't reportedly have a valid driver's license. Beasley, a passenger in the vehicle, allegedly had several ounces of marijuana, and after a search of the vehicle officers found more marijuana.
Officers say the weight of the seized drug was 4½ ounces in eight individual bags.
The two men were arrested and booked into McCracken County Regional Jail.
