Paducah man drowns in Mississippi River | News
CARLISLE COUNTY, KY (KFVS)- A Paducah man has died after he slipped from a barge and drowned early Tuesday morning in the Mississippi River.
Jeffrey L. Casey of Paducah was attempting to transfer from one barge to another by rope when he slipped on the frost covered rope falling into the river, according to Kentucky State Police.
The current swept him underneath a barge. He was pulled from the water a few minutes later when he resurfaced.
The Carlisle County Coroner pronounced Casey dead at the scene.
The investigation continues.
