Work zone traffic backup on I-24 at Paducah, Lyon County | News
MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is reporting a major traffic backup in the work zone along I-24 from the 3 to 13mm at Paducah in McCracken County and the work zone from the 38 to the 45mm in Lyon County.
This backup is mainly due to heavy holiday and Friday afternoon commuter traffic.
According to KYTC, westbound traffic is backed up into Illinois across the Ohio River Bridge from the work zone entry point at the 3 mile marker and is reported moving about 10 miles per hour at this time.
Drivers are asked to use alternate routes when possible. The I-24 Downtown Business Loop is a good alternate route to avoid this work zone.
The is also a backup westbound at the 38mm where traffic enters the Lyon County work zone.
US 62 and KY 93 provide an alternate route for this section.
