MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - The McCracken Public Schools has named the new assistant principal for Lone Oak High School.
Kent Green, a graduate of Lone Oak High School, began his career as a high school social studies teacher in the Cloverport Independent and Union County school districts. He has also worked as principal of the alternative school in Union County and most recently served as interim principal of Union County Middle School.
"I'm looking forward to meeting the students of Lone Oak High School and helping to prepare them to transition to McCracken County High School next fall," Green said.
Green received a bachelor's degree in history from Murray State University, and masters' degrees in history and public administration and a Rank I in educational administration from Western Kentucky University. While in Union County he served as Safe Schools Coordinator and regional coordinator for the Center for Civic Education.
"Mr. Green will certainly be an asset for Lone Oak High School," said principal Matthew Houser. He brings experience and leadership that will contribute to the positive school environment, and he is focused on preparing students for college and/or career. We are very excited to add him to the administrative team."
