Paducah woman faces drug charges after breaking into home

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, (KFVS) - A Paducah woman faces several drug charges after breaking into a home while under the influence of a controlled substance.

On March 21 around 11 p.m., Deputies received a call of a female subject that had broken into a home in the 2200 block of Lovelaceville Florence Station Road East.

Upon arrival they found Kelly A. Christian, 33, of Paducah, inside of a resident’s home in the corner of the dining room.

Officers say Christian was found to be highly under the influence of several illegal drugs which she had injected.

Christian was also found to be in possession of two different prescription drugs during the investigation. Mercy Regional EMS was called and Christian was transported to Lourdes Hospital for a possible overdose.

5 kids cited for walking on roof of school

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - Police were called to the Reidland Elementary school when someone reported seeing kids walking on the roof.

Police responded to the call about 3:30 a.m. on August 3. When deputies arrived, they found five boys ranging in ages 12-15 hiding on the roof of the cafeteria. Reidland Fire Department also responded to get the boys safely back on the ground.

All five were cited for third degree criminal trespass and violation of the county curfew ordinance. The boys were then released to their parents.

Paducah Parks Services Dept. t0 host Paducah Regatta

PADUCAH (KFVS) - The Paducah Parks Services Department is holding the Paducah Regatta on Saturday, June 16 at the Noble Park Pool.

Using cardboard and duct tape to build a boat, the goal is to race it across the width of the pool without sinking.

All supplies to build your boat are provided, or bring your boat from home. All boats must meet specified rules and requirements. For a list of rules, you can click here.

Registration is at 9:30 a.m. with the race beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Participants are given one hour maximum to build their boat and all boat construction stops at race-time. Cost is $10 per boat.
