Police say the arrests are the result of a several-months-long investigation by their Drug and Vice Enforcement Unit.
They say two more suspects are arrested and will be served warrants charging them with trafficking offenses. Those two include:
Jerrelle A. Hill, 24, who is jailed in Obion County, Tenn. and Joey Walker, 58, who is in the state penitentiary at LaGrange, Ky.
According to police, four others have been charged, but have not yet been arrested.
Sgt. Will Gilbert, commander of the DAVE unit, said those arrested are street- and mid-level drug dealers.
He said detectives began building cases several months ago, making undercover purchases from the suspects themselves, and using multiple confidential informants to make “buys.”
DAVE detectives - along with Operations Division officers, both of the department’s K9 units, local ATF agents and two medics from Mercy Ambulance – met for a briefing at 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, and were on the street with arrest warrants by 7 a.m. The 14 people listed above were in custody by 2 p.m.
Gilbert was pleased with today’s effort.
“All of the arrests went smoothly, without incident,” Gilbert said. “The majority of those arrested were very cooperative.”
All of those arrested were booked into McCracken County Regional Jail.
